Counseling Services

The mission of the State College Area Middle School Counseling Department is to provide support services and curricular programs that contribute to the development of individuals who demonstrate lifelong learning skills, embrace cultural diversity, show respect for self and the rights of others, and practice good citizenship.  As recommended by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association, our guidance and counseling programs focus on personal, social, educational, and career development.

The services and programs that our Counseling Department offer include:

  • Conflict Resolution, Anti-Bullying, and Social Programs
  • Group Counseling
  • Individual Counseling
  • Coordination with and Referrals to Community Agencies
  • Parent/Guardian Consultation

  • New Student Orientation, Testing, and Scheduling
  • Community Outreach and Service
  • Maintenance of Student Records
