Welcome
Coordinators
Do you have a strong interest in science and engineering? Are you responsible, able to follow directions, able to work individually and as part of a (socially distant) group? Do you have a strong desire to showcase those talents in a competition setting? If so, consider joining Science Olympiad. Science Olympiad consists of a multi-school competition that takes place in the spring. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student is eligible to be part of the team. We meet during period 9 on Day 3's and have occasional after-school practices. Competitions can be team events of 2 students or done individually. Events range from building balsa wood bridges, mousetrap cars, and gliders to testing events on food science, ornithology, and the sounds of music.

What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education.
Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events, which students prepare for during the year.
These challenging and motivational events are well balanced among the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, engineering, physics, and computers. Events balance students’ knowledge of science facts, concepts, process skills, and science applications.
Date of the Competition - TBA: usually in March
Location of Competition - Penn State Wilkes Barre Campus - 44 University Drive, Dallas, PA 18612
