SketchUp is currently being used by a number of our students. It is free, MAC and PC versions available and has numerous tutorial videos available.

This is a free software download for a simple CAD program. Students can be up and running within a few classes. The Standard version is free, and you can upgrade to CAD Pro for $25. Go to CadStd and click on "Download CadStd Lite".
